Emu ranching

 Emu ranching
Around here (in central Texas), one frequently hears about raising
Emus, a large ostrich-like bird. For example, there might be an ad
in the classifieds for a little 20-acre place, and it'll say, "this
would be perfect for an emu ranch." Likewise, local feed stores
sell emu food, etc.

Is raising emus *really* feasible, or is this just some rural
yuppie hobby thing?

Ron,

If you have emu breeding stock and are getting good money, it's probably a good thing.

If you paid a lot for an emu and the market crashes, it won't look so hot.

I've not been run over by people looking for emus, but then I'm not in either of the above camps, either.

FWIW, I think it's a bubble.
