Moderator Vacancy Investigation (MVI) - RESULT

The MVI period for sci.aeronautics.airliners has concluded with the
following result:

sci.aeronautics.airliners will have a new moderation team, coordinated
by George Herbert.  An announcement will be made by them, not including
news.announce.newgroups, when they are ready for the group to become
operational again.

Things have not progressed yet for turning s.a.a back on.
I was on vacation for a week, and came back with a cold bad
enough that playing with moderation software is not a good
idea right now.  A couple of times I've caught myself
trying to post something incoherent in other newsgroups,
though I seem to have several lucid hours a day.

As soon as I trust myself with complex technical activities
again things will start moving.

After a number of delays, sci.aeronautics.airliners is now
live again and open for business.  The moderation article
submission email forwarding has been tested and appears to
be fully working, the software for approving articles is
set up here, and we're ready to go.

I know there are some former readers and posters out there
who have been waiting for this.  Thanks for your patience.
Hopefully it will be useful for everyone again.
