Solution for Soaking Tiny Sponge used to Stroke LASIK Flap back into Place

Hi ... I'm reading in the Review of Ophthalmology about the procedure
for brushing
the flap back into place.  Two doctors are talking about "soaking the
heck out of
the sponge" and then lightly brushing the flap back into place.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what solution it is that is
used to soak the
sponge before brushing the flap back into place.

Thanks.

On at least one occasion I saw that the surgeon uses a sterile
balanced salt solution.  About as inert as you can get.

Surgeons use either balanced salt solution or a slightly thicker
lubricating drop like refresh tears.  It is nice that you focused on
the flap placement after the laser has been used, as this is perhaps
the most critical aspect to the LASIK procedure.  The flap needs to be
properly aligned and smoothed, so that no wrinkles are present in the
flap.

Best of luck
