Is Ultrasonic Cleaning Effective 4 CLeaning Contact Lenses??
I can't tell you specifically whether the LenSoClean is effective, but I
CAN tell you that ultrasonic cleaning is very common in industry,
medicine, and laboratories. I'd be skeptical of the claim that it's OK
for all lenses, though, as I can easily imagine damage being caused to
some materials (not specifically lens materials), nut not the ones they
tested. I also think their "before/after" pictures are a bit suspicious.
BTW, it doesn't "clean contact lenses like a washing machine cleans
clothes," and they actually criticize the "washing-machine style"
cleaners rather scathingly.
Finally, I wonder what effect all the sonicated {*filter*}left floating in
the cleaning solution has when you remove the lens, and whether their
cleaning solution is safe and non-irritating.
