Ocular Albinism-Am I in the right place?

I have left messages here pertaining to Ocular Albinism. I have not had
much success with responses pertaing to new treatments or anything else
for that matter. This may be because it is essentially a genetic condition.
Any thoughts on a different site that may be more "on point" for my
cocerns.

Thanks,

Ron.

Not sure I can offer too much without a lot more information.  I have
done some work with biofeedback for nystagmus, if you have that, which
has helped to increase the visual acuity a bit.  I have seen some
people using special contact lenses with opaque peripheries to help
reduce some of the light.  I have not done this myself.  Let us know a
bit more and maybe we can make some suggestions.

Ocular Albinism-Am I in the right place?
Thank you for replying regarding Ocular Albinism. I am not in the medical
profession, so much of the following is my layperson understanding of our
14 month old son's condition and reiteration from his medical records:

At two months of age, he was noted with having nystagmoid eye movements
and a lack of focusing. Also, there was transillumination of both irises,
foveal hypoplasia, absence of yellow macula pigment and a diffuse
hypopigmentation of the choroid. Children's hospital diagnosed him with
X-linked ocular-cutaneous albinism.

While we have recently learned that his vision may not be too seriously
hampered, we are always interested in any new research, etc.

Relaying of any experiences or new studies would be greatly appreciated,
especially for future children.

Tahnks, Ron
