I while ago I posted a message for a friend who was looking for
someone with expertise to verify, authenicated what he believes is a
large head sculpted into a rock in north central Arizona.  He believes
it could be of Olmec origin.  I got some responses, and several
requested a photo and more information.  Those interested can see the
photos and check it out at:

You can also contact the man who made this find.

If the photograph on the web page referred to is anything to go by
then the carving is very probably a fake. I don't know anything about
Olmec carvings or heads but I do know that lichen grows
indiscriminately on the surface of a rock and will not avoid the
incised lines in the way that is shown in the photograph.

sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organised.

Hello,

I would like to enquire if any reader is familiar with UNISA (Univ of
South Africa).

I am preparing to enroll in their archeo/anthro program and was wondering
on their reputation in the professional circuit.

Thank You!

Aleks
