Position Announcement

The new School of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences invites
applications for several positions (6-8) at faculty, research faculty
and senior technical staff levels.  The applicant selected to fill
this position will become a member of a cross-disciplinary team of
health informatics experts with diverse expertise focused on common
goals.  The research and educational initiatives of the School can be
broadly characterized as focused on issues that impact health care
delivery, particularly as they pertain to the acquisition, storage,
analysis and retrieval of information.  

Duties for this position will be the support and enhancement of
existing research projects within the School, as well as the
development of new research initiatives.  The successful candidate
should minimally have the following qualifications:

+       an advanced degree in a field related to computer or
        information science
+       research experience or potential
+       demonstrated ability to work in and/or lead cross-disciplinary
         teams

Ideally, the candidate will also have experience at the intersection
of information technology and health care delivery.

While a broad array of technical skills are needed within the School,
special consideration will be given to those candidates that have
demonstrable experience in the following technical areas:

+       nomadic computing
+       digital publishing
+       collaboration technologies
+       WWW and related technologies
+       data warehousing / mining
+       information retrieval
+       virtual reality
