See the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) publication,

ATM:
Yes; if we treat the high level processes as a "black box,"
already amply demystified by the neuroscience of John C. Eccles
and by the visual feature-extraction work of Hubel and Wiesel, we
can superimpose the transformational linguistics of Noam Chomsky
and thus create a rudimentary artificial mind as in Mind.Forth AI.

The freshman Computer Science student, learning a lot about
algorithms and computational theory, is welcome to work on
http://www.***.com/
so as to learn a little neuroscience and linguistics for Y2K.
