Who knows books about neurologic examinations on mystics?

 I don't know about books, and I doon't know if this is EXACTLY what
you are looking for, but Persinger had one or more studies published in
_Perceptual and Motor Skills__ a few years ago, which (IF I recall
correctly) reported a high incidence of self-reported phenomena similar
to symptoms of continuous partial epilepsy in people who--what??
believed in UFOs?  claimed out of body experiences??

(Nils Varney and colleagues have reported similar findings among
patients with mild head injury)

Sorry to be so vague about Persinger's work, but that's all I can
recall at this point.

Hmmm...something else is coming back to me: I believe Persinger and
Varney were co-authors on a paper related to these isssues..
