 Advantage psychopharmacologist?

If you mean drug interactions, absorbtion, CYP enzymes, etc. I'd go
with the psychopharmacologist.

If you mean how well does some mind drug work in practice, practical
advice, I'd go for the psychiatrist.

Hello,
 I worked in Human Services and
 I can say without a doubt that psychiatrists only care about writing
prescriptions. They do no psychotherapy anymore with the exception of someone
like Peter Breggin M.D.
I have seen clients of mine put on lithium without the recommended {*filter*} work,
and I have seen people drugged into a stupor and suffering brain damage at the
hands of institutional psychiatrists.
 If you have a drug problem by all means search online for answers, and ask a
psychiatrist. Remember, many of the psychoactive {*filter*} have side effects when
stopping them also.
