Dr. DS, DR. D, someone please help.
The scary part of what I'm experiencing is that after reading this board for 6-7 months nobody else has complained of similar symptoms. After having an infection from sex which would go away and then reoccur after antibiotics for the first few months, I still didn't feel right, but assumed I had to be infection free it just had to be nerves and would go away. I didn't feel right {*filter*}ly for a year and felt some discomfort, finally after all this time I started having discharge- I didn't have unprotected sex ever again, just that one initial time. I took doxy and floxin and the "infection" went away again, only to come back 3 months later. Its been a year now and what I'm experiencing is that my {*filter*} is constantly tight, physically its like its clenched or solid, but not an {*filter*}- its almost constantly uncomfortable- and when its very tight theres discharge during a bowl movement. The normal {*filter*} reaction is gone and its difficult to get an {*filter*}, sex doesn't really feel all that good, (not that I've even been having sex- I want to wait until I feel better at this point, and when I ejaculate its very watery. I saw a uro for months and had different tests done, tried different antibiotics and flomax but no relief. When I tried bactrim it was gone when I woke up and I was normal for about 5 days, ( the difference is incredible), and then it came back- my uro said that if it came back when I was on the abx it had to be a placebo, but its not possible I could not imagine those symptoms, its like a night/day difference. I've tried prosta q, cutting out caffeine, {*filter*}, no help. If this is just an inflammation or irritation I would at least feel better sometimes, this isn't just going to go away- it acts and always has acted like an infection. I think I've built up a tolerance to these antibiotics. Tests shown calcifications on both a prostate and testicular sonogram, can this "damage" be causing the problem, is it irreversible? I feel bad for you guys who are experiencing pain, but this constant discomfort and {*filter*} dysfunction is miserable, I cant imagine living like this my whole life, I'm 26. I'm going to a new uro next month, (the earliest appointment is always two months away), I'm going to insist on an eps and maybe having my {*filter*} tested because it doesn't look to good, two tests I haven't had done yet. This is a horrible problem, I'm not the same person anymore.

=====So, IMHO, this somehow lends support to the hypothesis tat you have neurogenic inflammation that some people would classify as pelvic floor dysfunction. The normal {*filter*} reaction Quote: >is gone and its difficult to get an {*filter*}, sex doesn't really feel all that >good, (not that I've even been having sex- I want to wait until I feel better >at this point, and when I ejaculate its very watery.
=====which, again, results from abnormal nerve function. I saw a uro for months and Quote: >had different tests done, tried different antibiotics and flomax but no
relief. ====which is the normal course of things when you have neurogenic inflammation. Quote: >When I tried bactrim it was gone when I woke up and I was normal for about 5 >days, ( the difference is incredible), and then it came back- my uro said that >if it came back when I was on the abx it had to be a placebo, but its not >possible I could not imagine those symptoms, its like a night/day difference. >I've tried prosta q, cutting out caffeine, {*filter*}, no help. ===not necessarily this isn't Quote: >just going to go away- it acts and always has acted like an infection.
===which does not mean there's no inflammation. I think Quote: >I've built up a tolerance to these antibiotics. Tests shown calcifications on >both a prostate and testicular sonogram, can this "damage" be causing the >problem,
====it's rather the consequence and probably not the cause of your conditions. is it irreversible? ====I doubt. ======I understand. I would probably do a test for tryptase and nerve growth factor in your case and get neurophysiologic testing. You haven't been reading this board long - I had more or less what you have except mine felt like hot grains of rice where in my {*filter*}-- right where under ultrasound a lot of stones could be seen. My reading or diagnosis of my situation (since my Uro was worthless) is that your body continues to fight against an infection that is no longer there that could be the reason for your discharge -- taste your {*filter*} during the discharge you will see that it tastes alkaline like someone put baking soda or some like substance in it. {*filter*}ically speaking your situation should improve or resolve in under three years, so just get ready to sit it out (ouch) and wait. I would take small amounts of Bactrim and Doxycyline just in case there are some bugs left in there -- but thats just me -- hang it there.

Ha! He said "cum-guzzler"! Now THAT'S creative. Quote: > Couldn't you just have a Sprite instead?
Sure, if it weren't for the sodium benzoate. I thought Sprite would be the one soda I could drink. WRONG! The Miami Protocol Lithmus Test: taste your cum. Brilliant.

Your {*filter*} dysfunction sounds exactly like mine, except i also have other CP symptoms. Here is something to try: Take a mega dose of saw pawmetto extract (like 5 times what they recommend on the label), for just a few days. Make sure the ingredients say the extract is standardized to 85-95% fatty acids. I'm not a doctor or any kind of expert, but personal experience is that saw pawmetto will relieve the inflamation, all though it does nothing for the cause of the inflamation. This won't answer many questions, but at least you'll know if your dysfunction is caused by inflamation. Also, it might help to massage your perineum. It's not a cure either, but at least some of that tension goes away temporarily. Another thing to try would be to take tribulus + nettle. The both raise testosterone levels, but because of the mechanisms at play combining them together works much better. I wouldn't take any of those things for an extended period of time, as you are messing with your hormones. Its more just a test to see what is out of whack. If your testosterone is low it might be why you don't feel like the same person. In inflamation in the prostate could very well lower testosterone levels. josh

Somebody here was saying that they got it in the US from a website or something. Do a google search in sci.med.prostate.prostatitis only, for Nivalin and I'm sure you can find his E-mail and his story. Take care
