Hi:
I've been taking Prozac since it first came out and it's helped a lot.
About a year or two ago, whenever the patent on Prozac expired, I started
getting generic fluoxetine from the pharmacy instead of Prozac. These capsules
looked very much like the original Prozac 20 mg. capsules, green and off-white.
For the most recent refill of my prescription, however, the capsules are very
different in color. They are white with two black stripes and are labeled "GG
550".
From what I have been able to find on the net, these too are generic
fluoxetine, but I would like some confirmation before I start ingesting these.
Can anyone here confirm that this is so? I can only find a few obscure
references to these black-and-white fluoxetine capsules (which is at least some
evidence to the positive), and no pictures by which I can verify.
Why not ask my pharmicist, you ask? --Well, I will, but my pharmacy has twice
in the past filled my precription wrong--with medication that had nothing to do
with treating depression (but rather for ulcers or something). So my confidence
level is not so high with them and I'm triangulated the data, so to speak.
Yes, I'm thinking about going to a different pharmacist.
Many thanks.
