Hi. Thank you for reading this. I am a high school Junior and extremely
interested in pursuing the study of pharmacy. What are some of the better
schools to attend? I am especially looking for schools in the
Northeast. Please email me. Thank you in advance.

Nuhtty,

If you are planning on getting into pharmacy, I strongly suggest that
you opt for a Pharm D. degree instead of the BS.  It's only one year
more at most schools.  I am a graduate of Rutgers College of Pharmacy.
I was a bit dissappointed upon entering the real world, with the lack
of practical knowledge the curriculum provided, but I was a BS
student, I'm certain that the Pharm D. degree is much more exhaustive.
I know that Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and science is a good
school, as is St. Johns in NYC.

Good Luck!- it's a turbulent and changing profession at the moment!

Andrew

Yes, but what are my chances of doing research with a pharmD?
i already have a bs in biology, and wanted the clinical aspect offered by
the pharmD., but in the end i will likely choose research as a career.
My thought now is to take as many research opportunities as possible
within the degree. Any suggestions?
thanx,
jOeLle :)

I suggest that you pursue a Ph.D.

I am a hospital pharmacist. I have a BS degree, later I got a MS in
Pharmacotherapuetics. When I submitted reseach ideas to the IRB, I
wasn't taken seriously. I later applied  for a NIH pilot grant. That
group advised  me to get a Ph.D.
