 "restless leg syndrome" - HELP

I would be pleased if someone could give me more information concerning a
condition termed "restless leg syndrome" (literature, diagnosis, therapy
possible remedies and {*filter*})
With many thanks

Ah, yes, restless legs. I've had it for years unfortunately. Most GPs
etc. are actually quite familiar with the term, although I've rarely
heard lay people bandy it about. But it's a common condition; Nabokov had
it, for example.

A good basic description plus suggested medications, exercise programs,
etc., can be found in "No More Restless Nights," a good book in general
on fixing sleep problems; published first in 1990 by John Wiley & Sons,
written by Peter Hauri (director of Mayo Clinic Insomnia Program) and
Shirley Linde. I think it's still in print or your library probably has a
copy.

Personally I have gotten relief from such things as a regular program of
exercise; improved diet; folic acid supplements; etc. In severe cases
you can try a med such as Klonopin, which is often prescribed and
generally effective.

I have heard of the following remedies:  Vitamin E (tocopherol), one or
two aspirin before bedtime, and avoidance of caffeine and other
stimulants.  A friend ended up doing them all (at once)  and they seemed
to help.
