New Drug - VISTIDE (cidofovir) For treatment of AIDS-associated CMV retinitis

Hello.

I'm a pharmtech working in a home healthcare agency and a sales rep
from Gilead Sciences came by our agency and brought us lunch and told
us about this new drug called Vistide (cidofovir).

It offers a delaying effect in CMV Retinitis in patients with AIDS
with advantages over Foscovir.  Vistide allows greater quality of life
in that it offers dosing of only twice monthly as opposed to every
day.  The drug must be given with Probenecid.

The sales rep only had package inserts to give us (some sales rep!)
and, drat it all, I misplaced it in the course of the busy evening of
mixing IV's.

If anyone has anymore information about this agent please post it.

Thanks

Rain King
