Pat, weight gain is not listed as one of the side effects, but dyspepsia
and abdominal pain is. Your friend's son may be trying to overcome the
discomfort by eating. Has he tried an antacid or H2 blocker such as
Pepcid, Zantac, Tagamet or Axid, or a proton pump inhibitor such as
Prilosec? Has he checked this with his doctor. If not, by all means he
