Chronic Fatigue SYNDROME v Chronic Fatigue
I wonder how many people confuse Chronic Fatigue (CF) with Chronic
Fatigue SYNDROME (CFS)?
There is a MAJOR DIFFERENCE and it's Post Exertional Malaise - often
delayed.
With CFS, during periods of wellness where you feel better, you may
overexert (emotionally, physically or both) yourself & within 24 hours
you relapse into a state of flu/viral/fatigue symptoms which leave you
TOTALLY STUFFED & KNACKERED and then you slowly recover before WHAM you
do the same thing again.
Unless you suffer this condition, YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND HOW
BAD THIS REACTION CAN BE and any ingnorant attempt to compare CFS to CF
deserves condemnation.
Graded Exercise to within VERY CAREFUL tolerated limits can help.
Depression & Anxiety tend to be diagnosed symptoms causing CF but if
you the Post Exertional Malaise then your condition will generally be
the WORSE CFS.
How I wish mine was only CF -- Sorry CF sufferers, but CFS is a MUCH
WORSE CONDITION to have.
CFS sufferers generally 'get' anxious & depressed c/- of their
symptoms.
Because long-term CFS is almost impossible to cure by the medical
profession, it is GENERALLY easier to put us CFS sufferers into the
Psychiatrict basket and pump us full of sedatives and hope that we
just give up and remain sedated.
And for those of us with just enough energy, well they'll just waste
our time & limited energy reserves on CBT - cognitive behaviour
therapy.
I have my garden hose ready for the flames that will come.
