ON's Pro Complex Claims -- What Am I Missing???

So, I'm still researching protein powders and stuff for designing a
real routine for myself (as opposed to my young man's do-what-I-feel-
like practice all these years).  I've come across the impressive Pro
Complex from Optimum Nutrition.  Thing is, I'm not sure I understand
their Nutritional Informational Label with regards to their claims.

They say there are 15 vitamins and minerals, but on the label itself I
count only 14.  Do they mean "sodium" as a mineral, then?  It seems
they do, but then that sounds like saying of water that it's low-
fat...kinda silly.

Also, there's supposed to be 14 grams of BCAAs...but the BCAAs aren't
listed with any measurement, in terms of weight or percentage.  What's
that about??

BTW, I'm thinking about using this powder in conjunction with the 100%
whey and creatine monohydrate fruit punch from Supplement Direct in
the following manner: SD first thing in the morning with cereal or
oatmeal; ON ~30 min. before working out with SD creatine; SD with a
bit of table sugar halfway through the work-out (I now limit my
workout to two hours); ON with SD creatine within 30 min. after
working out; SD right before bed.

Sodium is commonly considered a mineral. A one of the many essential for
health minerals.

You could contact the manufacturer and ask them for a precise content of
amino acids. Maybe it's even listed on their website?

Indeed -- but that's silly, and even disingenuous, of them to have
done that.  I mean, AFAIK, breakfast cereals don't count sodium/salt
as a nutrient in their marketing claims, even though it is essential
to life, of course, never mind good health.

Again, that's like advertising water to be low-fat.  I hate companies
that pull gimmicks like this.

No, pretty website, but vapid and devoid of any real info.  I
contacted them already but haven't received a response yet.

It's weird for them to brag about 14 grams of BCAAs and even list
their three components separately on the nutritional information label
but then have no numbers next to them at all, whether by weight or
percentage.

I want to see if this stuff works.  Hope it's not shit from China.

Why not check out cbass.com.  Mr Bass is a body builder who has done
lots of research and has all kinds of great information on diet,
exercise and body building.  I don't recall that he recommends
anything but real food, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the ref; looks like one hard-core dude, all right!  Old-
timers like him give me hope.  Currently, I see myself lifting
"competitively" (WRT myself, that is; I don't mean actual contests and
all) until about fifty...I was thinking of "retiring" to general
physical fitness kind of stuff by then...but tough guys like him
inspire me to keep at it until God-knows-when....
