 Testosterone Transdermal Patch

When males with low T levels use the Testosterone 5mg transdermal patch,
their T goes to the mid point of the normal range. However, since almost
all values associated with T levels change according to age, it is not
clear to me what "normal" means.

Do physicians ever prescribe a 5mg patch, plus a 2.5mg patch?  If so,
what is the effect, both physically and emotionally?

Does anyone know of any studies in which participants were given above
standard amounts of T via patch?

When using a 5mg patch, does a males normal production of T stop?

Does there exist a table of normal levels of T, FT, BT, DHT and
Estradiol broken down by {*filter*} ages. i.e., 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 etc,
years old?

"Normal ranges" vary by laboratory, but are based on average levels of
the assays the labs perform.  Sometimes they will be broken out by
age.  I think all current T patches are approved for men roughly 18-65
and probably haven't been tested extensively in older men.

Some menhave probably tried 7.5 mg dose.  A physicain might prescribe
it if a man hasn't responded adequately to a 5 mg dose.  Anyone have
any experience with >5 mg dose?

I don't.

It is suppressed.

Specific labs may do so, but I think it's unlikely.  More likely would
be:

Pre-pubertal, 15-20, 20-65, >65.
Normal range for men 20-65 is quite variable, most normal ranges for
these ages are around 300 - 1000 ng/dl.
