I know one woman personally who was bitten 5 or so years ago and
unfortunately isn't doing too well. Her initial presentation following
this bite was a golf ball sized reddish bump on her leg which progressed
to a cutaneous necrosis just below her skin. This left a sizable
indentation on her leg which was attributed to the spiders venom. I don't
recall how quickly or what exact treatments were given but apparently the
venom or at least it's effects disseminated to many other parts of her
body. She has ongoing neuro, muscular and arthritic symptoms. It may be
that this is no longer due to the venom, but rather an autoimmune response
possibly triggered by the event itself.
