Has anyone tried to contact Oprah or anyone of media influence to bring the
Lyme controversy to light?

Why Oprah? she does not have Lyme, I bet she never heard of it.

We have Gov Whitman and Gov Pataki (?),
here in the northeast who both have had Lyme.
That MTV nutcase also had it but she was kicked off the show and voted the most
hated real world person in MTV history so she does not count.
What about JR STRONG, he is a star and could spread the word?

Oprah's a great idea. How about Montel? I dont usually watch talk shows, but
when I saw his show on the other day, he was focusing on chronic illness (MS
in particular). Maybe he would show some intereset in Lyme since they have
similarities.

Before you buy.

Yes, I have tried several times to contact Oprah. Last year I heard she was
looking for people who were misdiagnosed. I sent her my story but never heard
back.  

Recently I again tried to contact her but never heard back. I guess she's not
interested.

What do you think about going NYC and standing outside the morning shows with
signs? I was thinking that May would be a good time to do this because May is
Lyme Awarness Month.

that's too bad Oprah blew you off, it sounds like you put some effort behind it
too.

I think we should use whatever opportunities we can to get in the public
eye (morning shows included).

She has a big mouth but her ratings suck so her voice will not reach that many.

or Hillary ...Hillary is so hard up for votes she will back any group...lol

In some fairness to Oprah, she did a program on difficult-to-diagnose and treat
diseases about a year and a half ago (after lots of us contacted her).  Karen
Forschner was a guest, speaking about Lyme disease.  She wasn't given enough
time, but it was enough to get several good points across.

Yes, Oprah already did a piece on Lyme. She had interest in it because the
woman who (I think) wrote, "The  Color Purple," had been diagnosed with LD some
years back. A Lyme patient and Karen Forschner were both interviewed.Also, Dr.
Nancy Snyderman said some interesting points about it, including the fact that
if she or her family were bit, that she would want treatment, whether a rash OR
lack of positive test results.
