 Tick Bite & Rash Question

In order to have Lyme Disease, must the EM rash be directly located at the
bite area? I was bitten between my fingers while sleeping, but an EM rash
(identical to a picture I saw on the LDF web site) appeared on my forearm
several days following the bite. Is this possible? Must the rash appear at
the bite scene? I've seen some sites that state the bite and rash must be at
the same site, others state otherwise. Thanks.

There is the distinct possibility that you may have been bitten more than once.

But if that was so, the tick would not have been there more then a couple of
hours. In other words, from your post, should I assume that YES you have to
have the rash where you were bitten? When I removed the tick in between my
fingers, I just grabbed it and pulled it out, more then likely squishing it
in the process...

Thanks,

No,I had multi rashes.  Back of the knee
where the tick bit me, in the groin area, the very middle of my stomach, under
the arm, on the side of my neck and the side of my face.  My infectious doctor
told me it was going around my lymph system. I also had a fever of least 102'
most of the time.

Hello I am Margaret from England.

In answer to your query, I was bitten by a tick (which was on my dog) in the
summer of 97 and that was on my forearm.  I later developed the ring rash on
the underside of my hand-same arm.  There was a single larger ring at the
point of bite which I first thought looked as though I had ringworm but on
the hand were multiple rings.  Unfortunately at that time I had no knowledge
of Lyme.  I have since learned that some people never see the ERM rash at
all and as mine came and went within a day I too could have missed it if it
had appeared somewhere else on my body.

Hope this is helpful to you.
