 Blood Drawing Passing Out!!

Happened again- doctor across the way says it is
"Hypervagatonia"
said his wife has it.  Says the vagus nerve, a cranial nerve, can do this in
some people when they have {*filter*} drawn if the nerve has become hyperstimulated.
Says will continue to happen ocne it starts most likely and to watch out for
it!!! Was very nice.  Another cranial nerve thing-!!
In a rush,
Sarah

Sarah,

If you have a chance, would you ask him if it can be associated with IM
injections? Actuallly, my son didn't faint with the IM, but he had audio/visual
perception distortion and difficulty walking within minutes of the injection.

The doctor mentioned that it could have been caused by his nerves, but he (son)
is concerned it may have been caused by the antibiotics.

Thanks,
Carla

I had this happen when I became allergic to the IM shots. immediately
after I would get them , withing 5-10 minutes,
I became 'stiff' all over and became very dizzy and confused, but no
rash or anything usually associated with an allergic reaction other than
mabee shortness of breath. I stopped taking them and sure enough I went
and got an allergy test for penicillin and it was positive.
If he hasn't had an allergy check for this med I highly recommend he
does before he takes any more.
