Am I crazy?

 Am I crazy?

I had the Lyme Disease rash about 8 years ago, and was treated with a
month of Tetracycline.  I forgot about it, confident that I would have
no more problems since I caught it early.  Since then I've been treated
for depression for about 3 years now, and my joints ache so badly and my
hands are so swollen I can barely do my job (I'm a chemical lab tech.) I
have several other symptoms, such as extreme fatigue, muscle pain, sleep
problems, forgetfulness, headaches...I've gone to 4 doctors, 2
psychiatrists, and 2 counselors, and the general consensis is that I'm a
hypochondriac.  My current doctor  tested me for Lupus, thyroid
problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and anemia, but I had to ask
specifically for a Lyme Disease test.  Everything else was negative or
inconclusive, and I got a note from her today that said I have NO
evidence of Lyme Disease.  Never mind my medical history and symptoms.
The {*filter*} test was negative, so I have no evidence of disease.  Please
tell me where I cen find someone in WI who will believe me and tell me
I'm not crazy.   I swear this pain is real.

No, youre not crazy.  This makes me so mad!!!
It takes monumental arrogance to think that if they dont  understand it,
then youre making it up.

Contact the Lyme Disease Foundation for a list of Lyme Literate doctors near
you. They will prove this for a small donation of $5.00.

You're not crazy, but many doctors suffer from megalomania or
dontchallengememania.  :  )
Post where you live and ask for Lyme literate doctors in your area or for
experts out of your area if you are willing to travel.

Nope, you're not crazy, just burgdorferied. {*filter*} little thing that you
need help with immediately.  Lots of good advice, good people and
information here. Stay tuned in, it will help.

I don't know where you are in Wisconsin, but I lived in LaCrosse County
for 20 years. Was back there from Florida this past summer.  Talked to
some people with Lyme. They told me about a LLMD and researcher in
LaCrosse, who is practicing at either the Gunderson Clinic or Lutheran
Hospital.

Dear Jenni,

If you are crazy then I am crazy also. I have never tested positive for
Lyme, yet I have all of the classic symptoms and have responded
reasonably well to antibiotics. Run to a doctor that acknowledges that
there are more questions than answers when it comes to Lyme disease.

Regards,

Bob Levine

Dear Jennie,

If you are willing to travel there is a Dr. in Palatine, Illinois, who is
very knowledgeable about Lyme.    She is rather pricey, but if you
have insurance, it shouldn't be a problem.

E-mail me, if you are interested and I will give you her info.

By the way, what part of WI are you from?   I am  near Richland
Center. . . .

Can  you e-mail me with the name of the Dr.?

Just was at Gunderson Lutheran this week, and had a real negative
experience with the Dr. there.     But I'd sure be willing to try another
one, if they actually knew anything about Lyme!!

get copies of the negative lyme testing...often you might fall in the negative
catagory...and yet will have significant lyme bands positive...but a non-lyme
literate dr. will dismiss the test as neg...while a llmd will treat...

Jenni: your symptoms to me appear to be of the lyme disease, you should
have 3 tests done at the same time: PCR, ELISA, WESTERN BLOT, and if
any of these is positive then you are a lyme disease carrier and should
start treatment. Please visit our web page, we have more than 800
patients who tested positive. www.hospitalmexico.com/we are in Tijuana,
Mexico. I'm Dr. Manuel R. Lazo

You are not crazy. I too went through many Drs, tests, and kept being
told that although I had a positive Lyme Test, that the 14 days of
antibiotics I got 8 years ago were enough.  I was even told by a so
called specialist that I should just go on with my life and I would be
fine.  So stop doubting yourself and find a Dr in your state that will
agressively treat Lyme.  I have to drive across CT to see one, but it is
worth it.  At least he looks me in the face(how many Drs do that) and
says that it is not in my head.
Doubting yourself will drive you crazy and the stress does not help your
symptoms.  Perhaps someone reading your message will know of a Dr for
you.  Don't give up!  Write me at my email if I can help!
