Osler's Web, CDC, NIH, and Dr Straus

OK folks!  Required reading - "Osler's Web" by Hillary Johnson.  It is
keeping me up at night.  Although it is about CFS and not Lyme disease, it
gives valuable insight into the workings of the medical community especially
at the NIH and CDC.  Of particular importance is what the book says about
Steven Straus at the NIH - Dr. Straus is the current project director for
the NIH chronic Lyme disease/multiple sclerosis study.

The book is amazing - you'd think they were talking about Lyme disease!

Art,
Perhaps they are speaking of Lyme disease.  The investigators ruled out a
Lyme disease etiology with negative serology results in some patients.
The described disease could certainly be due to a spirochetal infection.
