Lyme Disease Is Under Control - (RICHMOND) -- A General Assembly study
shows the number of cases of Lyme disease has increased 25-fold in the
nation since 1982, but it's NOT considered a major problem in {*filter*}ia. The
Joint Commission on Health Care says {*filter*}ia is a ``low risk'' state for
the tick-borne illness. Its symptoms include rash, fatigue, fever and
chills. State officials say 72 cases of Lyme disease were reported in
{*filter*}ia last year, with most occurring in the eastern section of the
commonwealth.
