
pegasys vs pegintron- Am I missing the obvious?
very confusing indeed. i have been waiting for pegasus to get approval in
canada. it is 'supposed' to be better than the schering product but the
margin of 'better' may not really be enough for you to wait for. i am a
relapser so every extra 5% is worth it. If you are a first time user you
will do well to ask for 'induction' dosing of Schering pegintron with
ribavirin (unless pegasus and ribavirin are available to you). Induction
dosing is the highest does you can stand for 1 month then 'normal' dosing
for the remainder of the term.....which is determined by your initial
response (if you clear the virus early you can get by with a six month
course). always get a good hepatologist to make those recomendations though.
GPs are likely not the best ones to make those choices for you.
