I experienced some of this in seeking a second opinion there. The doctor,
after being entirely dismissive, failed to notify me when biopsy results
came back with a different diagnosis. I think the entire medical system has
become overwhelmed. In prior treatment at HSS, also considered tops,
rudeness seemed to be the norm but I considered this a cut above NYU, where
my tumor was diagnosed as a ganglion cyst, which would "go away."
I have finally been treated with what appears to be some competence and
caring at Mt Sinai. BTW, my diagnosis evolved several times since I started
on this odyssey, Much to my amazement, I've learned this is not so unusual.
