Lup #1 / 10	Adenocarcinoma of the Lung Stage 1V Does anyone have experience on successful response to chemo regimes for adenocarcin thanks for any information anyone may have My sister they took one of lungs out 2 years ago but the cancer has returned and know she is in stage 4 they give her chemo every 21 days carboplatin/taxol she gets severe pain from waste down to her legs she is currently on Endocet 5/325 tablet for pain plus they give Xxanax 1mg three times a day

I am starting in a few weeks with a phase 3 trial. first 2 weeks a portacath with or without the DNA altering stuff, then 6 cycles of cisplatin one week, next week gembaticin 1 week rest. Keeps me busy during summer. Last summer I had all the diagnostics. Again no vacation (a 5 mm met on the adrenalgland was found, and the lungtumor grew from 2 mm to 11mm. -- Darn, an evil hen Rian

I have the same, but they examined the nodes beforehand, so I still have my lung. After radiation in september, the tumor grew back to 15 mm and a met developed on the adrenal gland (5 mm) My CEA showed something was up. I will be getting combi chemo of cisplatin and gembaticin in 3 week cycles: 1, 2, rest and a trial of a gen-drug beforehand(or not) I have no symptoms at all, so the whole process is very abstract to me: submitting myself to {filter} meds where I feel great! I even gained 5 pounds since radiation. Rian

Small cell is generally treated by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. All other types are called non-small cell, and are generally treated surgically for early stages, and with radiotherapy or chemotherapy fior advanced stages. "Metastatic" means the cancer has spread to distant places, so is advanced.
