 Prognosis after one cancer

A few questions:

1) If one has been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, does this
mean one is at higher risk for other types of cancer? For
melanoma (fair skin)? For the same cancer?

2) I read that with lung cancer, if one stops to smoke, the
odds go back to non-smoker levels after about 10 years. Is
the same true of fat-diet-related cancers (colon, {*filter*})?

P.

P.,  basal cell carcinomas of the skin are often associated with an
increased risk of other sun-related malignancies, like squamous cell
carcinoma of the skin.  So far, the data on the effect of changing
diet on the subsequent risk of cancer of {*filter*} or colon is sketchy
and in some instances contradictory.  It makes sense to reduce in the
diet not only for cancer related hypotheses, but also for your
coronary system... H2
