I am not sure about effects of carbon block filter, but what I know is
that fluoridation is a very effective way to improve {*filter*}health of both
children and {*filter*}s. When we are talking about fluoridation, we often
make the difference between the extrinsic and intrinsic way.

Intrinsic means fluoride which derive from drink water and salt
(fluoridized, of course), certain kind of cooking.net">food (tea for example) and
finally flouride pills (prescription by your dentist). Intrinsic
fluoridation leads to a reduction of caries of 50-60%. This is a big
success and many people are not aware that the good state of their teeth
was due to this fact rather then to their unregularly brushing and
flossing. Before starting to make fluoridation by yourself, you should
check out the natural fluoride concentration of drink water in your
county. Sometime the concentration given by nature is high and efficient
enough. It should be 1,5 mg/liter or 1 ppm (part per million).

On the other hand extrinsic way means all source of fluoride from which
you can applicate to the teeth like toothpaste, fluoride gel or even
mouth rinses. You can ask your dentist to applicate for you and your
kids, you can also buy it from the pharmacist and do it yourself.
Extrensic fluoride has a lower sucess ratio of 20-50% in comparison to
the intrinsic way.

Normally the total concentration of fluoride (F-) per day (extrinsic +
intrinsic) for kids between 1-2 years old should be 0.25 mg, for 3years
old 0.5 mg, for 4-6 years old 0.75mg and for others including {*filter*}s
1-1,5mg/d.

As like everything in life, its always a question of concentration. A
too high doses of fluoride is certainly not good for health, just the
same as too much sunhine (=skin cancer) or too much water (=drowning).

The Norwegian Health authorities tell us that "the experts agree that
caries development is inhibited most effectively by the local effect
on fluoride. Norway is not fluoridated, and where they previously
recommended fluoride tablets, they're now saying that fluoride
supplements are unnecessary if you use fluoride toothpaste regularly.
They also say that these recommendations are "largely in accord with
the recommendations given by the WHO and EU". So are you saying that
they don't know what they're talking about?
