Many famous people have perio. It is mostly PM rather than PD.
PM is periodontal membrane. PD is periodontal disease.

I didn't make my query clear enough. The last thing I'd want is to
breach confidentiality. When I said "can be substantiated", I meant
that the person has made it known to the public that they have
this problem. For example, a magazine article, an excerpt in a
book about that person, a TV interview etc. I think it would raise awareness
of
such problems if Perio had a Poster Child, not unlike Mary Tyler
Moore or Wilford Brimley for diabetes, or Kirby Puckett for glaucoma.
