Some dentists use cyanoacrylic which may NOT be recommended as there
is a possibility of some harmful chemicals leaching out from the
repair. It is quick and easy, but possibly harmful.

The best way is to reposition the original tooth in place and then
drill a small hole through the bulky part of the underside of the
tooth right through into the pink acrylic. It is important to NOT
drill through to the tissue surface! This does take some skill.

Next, remove the tooth and enlarge (and undercut) the hole into the
pink acrylic. Now mix powder and liquid (acrylic monomer and polymer)
aslo known as repair material. Next, wet the sufaces of the tooth and
the prepared hole with liquid. Add the slurry mixture, then drip some
more liquid over the surface as it begins to set up. This prevents the
slurry from drying out before the repair polymerizes. This will avoid
porosity of the repaired surface.

After 20-30 minutes, drop in warm water, preferably under 25-30 p.s.i.
(air pressure). Polish smooth using pumice using a rag wheel and check
your work.

AN ALTERNATIVE: Consult your friendly dentist!

We use a top brand cold cure in our very heavy denture practice.  All cold
cures change color a bit, apparently because the chemical used to stabilize
the materials on the shelf age by oxidizing after the cure. But if the
repair is done correctly there is so little nothing that shows from the
{*filter*} that it doesn't matter.  And since when is pink plastic supposed to
show in a denture?

I want both!

In the old days we used two pastes to mix composites, a cold cure
reaction--- No one does that today.

If you use a cross linked monomer, there should be no discoloration
provided that it's still in the brown bottle and not sitting or stored
out in intensive light.
There is a hybrid type intermediate cure acrylic by HI I in Villa Park Il.
that seems to be quite color stable.  Hi I stands for High Impact.  kw
