Last month, I bought a new electric toothbrush at The Sharper Image.
It is said to be a new generation of toothbrush because it uses
ultrasound and it moves at 260 strokes per second.

I've been impressed with the quality of the Sonicare, but I'd like
to hear testimonials from others, especially dentists, before I start
handing them out as Christmas presents.

It's certainly better than Interplak, which is a fragile piece of junk.

   Interplak brush heads are a total rip-off at $14.50 each, and it's
packaging is the most wasteful I've ever seen.

   Nevertheless, I like how Interplak performs, but I'm ready to make the
leap to a better performance/price brand.  I'm interested in how good
a deal Sonicare and other brands are.

  My girlfriend read a study that the ADA hasn't given approval for the
sonic tooth brushes because they are concerned about soft tissue damage.
