sore tooth / mouth while waiting for wisdom teeth extraction

Hi, at a recent visit to my dentist, I've discovered that I need to have all
4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and have a surgery scheduled for early February.
In the meantime, my jaw and one of those teeth are very sore. To alieviate
the pain, my dentist perscribed tylenol 3 and penicillin. I was wondering how
long after taking the penicillin would my jaw and tooth not hurt as much?
I've been on the penicillin for almost 48 hrs now (in 9 hours it will hit the
48 hr mark) and the pain hasn't lessened. My concern is that I'm flying out
of town for a few days on Tuesday and was hoping the pain would be much less
by then. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

thanks

I think you must use a clorohexidine gel or in solution and use that in
your wisdom tooth, it will help you.
