Salt water is a wonderful taste killer for something like a draining
infection which leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. Other than that any
and everything you may have heard about rinsing with salt water is an old
wives tale. Salt water will not toughen your gums or make anything heal
faster. Rinsing with it after an extraction can cause a dry socket because
of the rinsing - I have seen this all too often.
