Yes. I don't have the research on hand, but at the tooth surface you
get a decrease in pH almost immediately after ingesting any fermentable
carbohydrate. So clearing any
cooking.net">food that will support decay activity
will decrease the chances of demineralization initiated by greater acidity.
It takes longer for plaque to organize, so flossing daily for MOST
people seems to be adequate to inhibit periodontal disease. Obviously
flossing and brushing complement each other, each covering surfaces of
the teeth that the other doesn't.
