I have a question regarding wether or not it is allowable for a child of 12
to be treated by a dentist without the parent being present in the office,
but a parent did make the appt. for the child, and said it was ok to do
treatment?

is the fact that the parent made the appointment fall under implied consent?

thank you, and if there are any resources on the net that covers this please
insert url for me to look at.

If the parent said it was OK to treat, it was expressed consent.

Exactly.  If the parent made the appointment and said it was OK to treat (assuming
that parent knew what was being done), then why do they need to be there?  To make
sure you do it right??

I agree as well.  Our office however does not treat children that were dropped
off by their parents, or come alone as in a 17 year old driving themselves in.
Ofcourse I have a huge problem with it; a 14 yo girl can get an {*filter*} with
out a parent present, but I can't clean her teeth and apply fluoride.  Sheesh
