I added the teeth part. The article is about how fingerprinting, long
accepted as evidence since 1911 is now coming under court scrutiny. This is
like the old amalgam--fluoride--orthodontics issues. People are coming up
with interesting ways of looking at old problems.

Well, whether or not fingerprinting is subject to error is certainly a
matter for discussion. Whether or not extractions are ever required for
orthodontics is a matter of discussion too.

However, courts still do accept fingerprinting even with a degree of error,
dentists still do insert amalgam to save teeth, and some orthodontic cases
really do require extraction. I had this validated by several
board-certified orthodontists and that is good enough for me. If a patient
wants to tell the Doc how to best handle the case, the patient has best be
prepared for handling the outcome too!
