Differing treatment plans
Medicine is a bit different than dentistry. In medicine the
diagnosis is paramount. Let's say the diagnosis is Non-
Hodgkins' Lymphoma, Stage IV.
You look up and find that the treatment is this much
radiation followed by that much chemotherapy. Where does this
information come from? Clinical trials where survival rates
are tracked.
Right diagnosis ---> optimal treatment ---> best survival.
In dentistry, the diagnosis is too simple. There are no
clinical trials and survival rates. Much depends on how much
effort, you the patient, are willing to invest.
The results, however, like medicine are fairly predictable.
