 Benefits of deep periodontal scaling/cleaning

What are the benefits of deep periodontal scaling and
cleaning, as opposed to the normal procedures?

My periodontist recommended the deep cleaning (two sessions,
involving numbing of the gums), which will cost $920.

Thanks.

Cleaning only extends to the areas of your teeth that can be seen, root
planing or "deep cleaning" ( ? ) takes care of infection on your teeth
roots, covered by the gums.

SRP is a treatment for a condition, if you don't have the condition, you
don't need it.

I just love pts. who don't follow my advice, they are like bank accounts
accruing interest, the more they wait, the more money either I or some
other Dr. will get.  The sad part is that we can only patch up the damage,
nothing we do is as good as the original. So you end up paying through
your nose, being needlessly  traumatized by more difficult treatment, and
getting a less ideal/comfortable result from same.

Wanna wait?  Sure, go ahead...
