Ah, I wonder . . . is one liable for damages if one's advice leads an
individual to forego or delay conventional treatment and as a result the
individual's disease progresses or condition deteriorates?

Absolutely.

JanDrew is holding herself out to the public to be an expert on root c{*filter*}
therapy and the systemic sequelae of same. She has no credentials and no
practical experience with it.

A random sampling of her posts reveals that she answers questions at
sci.med.dentistry AS IF she is a dentist or dental expert. A lawsuit in the
making. This is why we have laws against practicing medicine without a
license. Practicing medicine means diagnosis and recommending therapy.

This is why Jan's hero, Dr. Hulda Clark (Ph.D., by the way) currently
resides in Mexico.I suspect JanDrew will be joining her shortly. Jan is
offering false advice about root c{*filter*}therapy, about fibromyalgia, about
whatever.

Cheers,

Joel M. Eichen, D.D.S.

No I don't think you wonder, however I do think even answering a stupid post
like this one of Joel's is rather childish.

Heck, even we have to be careful and use phrases like "it sounds like",
"in my opinion", "one possibility", etc.

I don't understand why others should get off with less (especially when
their advice is *so* wrong and potentially dangerous).

Point well taken!

However, if I don a police uniform and go around telling people it's OK
to rob banks, I think I would be in some kind of trouble.

But you're probably OK if you're not impersonating an officer of the
law.

OK, maybe I'm getting this legal thing through my thick skull....

I can go around telling people it's OK to rob banks as long as I am not
dressed as a police officer or claiming to be a police officer.

Jan, et.al., can give potentially harmful dental advice as long as they
do not claim to be dental professionals.

Is that it?

If a person/entity could be prosecuted for promoting false or misleading
information, do you think the Weekly World News (my favorite tabloid--once I
saw a cover story that Hillary Clinton had adopted space aliens--with a
sloppily doctored photo of Hil smilingly cradling the cute creatures in her
arms) would still be in business?

Back to the thick skull. My message is *IF* you have an unanswered health
problem,,,,,,,,CHECK THE TEETH.

Just exactly what is potentially harmful in that statement? Please be specific.

They can't be.

For those new readers, all Jan is saying here is
*check* the teeth as a possibility. See a doc,
get tests, do research on your own.

I have never said that amalgam removal is a
magic cure for anything. In some people, it
may be a significant factor in their health
problems, but to figure out if that is a case,
you need to see a doc (most likely an alternative
doc)...

In some (and maybe most) people, amalgam
has no bad effects at all.
