 terminology/perio exam

Dear Group:

I know the word "fremitus" means {*filter*}y tremors such as those felt
through the chest wall by palpation.  Would someone please explain its
meaning in relation to a comprehensive perio exam?

 Thank you,

Toni,

When we use the word "fremitus", it means movement of the teeth when the
patient bites down or chews.  For example, I will put my fingers on the
front teeth (central incisors) and then have the patient close.  If I
feel movement this is considered fremitus.  Sometimes, you can even see
the teeth.
