Hello,
I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a way for people to make molds of
their mouths at home. I'm aware of boil and bite molds, but I think they
lack the amount of detail needed to fit someone for a customized mouthguard.
We'd like to start up a business offering customized mouth guards for people
in which they can order directly from their home and then send their molds
to us so we can make a customized mouth guard.

Sure Scott,
In fact, an enterprising California dentist has done exactly that. He set up
kiosks in malls, gives patients take-home impression material (or does it at
the kiosk) and the patient takes their own impressions. He then mails them
the completed whitening/mouthguard thang.
The dental societies are trying the figure out how to shut him down because
he is dispensing polyvinylsiloxane to patients without perscriptions! Or
prescriptions either.
Cheers,

We're looking for a product that will allow someone to easily make a reverse
impression of their mouth

that will maintain it's shape without shrinking
during transit through the mail system.
Oh mail! Then its no good. I thought you were going to go with Airborne or
UPS.
Anyone have any ideas?
