How are we doing compared to how cable TV is doing

Comcast has a 35% profit margin. That's equivalent to a dental office paying
all their bills, all their supplies, all their suppliers, and equipment,
their salaries, including the dentist paying himself/herself a nice salary
and then having 35% left over at the end of the year.

I say cable is doing okay!

OOPS, you just tripped over your CPA.  If you are a sole proprieter and
pay yourself a salary, that salary IS part of your profit/loss.  It is never
an expense.
