Hi Nic,  It sounds like you may
be describing the classic
"high water" fixed prostheses
developed by Dr. Branemark's
team in Sweden ~30 years ago.
It usually involves 5-6 implant
fixtures which support a non-patient
removable denture like device.
The possible other senerio is 2-4
implant fixtures supporting an
overdenture.  The overdenture
is a patient removable device-that
snaps into place on top of the implants.

Unfortunately there are too many
possible senerios to give you an
idea of the cost.  #of implants,
type of prosthesis, the area of the
world, are but a few of the variables
that would effect price.  Your best
solution is to have the diagnosing
dentist quote a fee in writing. Make
sure this includes the surgical as well
as the prosthetic fee.

High  quality treatment can be found
certainly throughout Europe.  I assume
you are from Great Britain.  However,
if you are looking for the area where
these devices have been done the longest,
University of Gottenberg, and the
Branemark team is a sure bet.

Good Luck,

Branemark is not clinically active in the university anymore.
Some of the guys at the university moved to London, U.K. and
have started an implant clinic in Harley Street (the doc street).

Bye for now,
Hans
PS: It is Gothenburg (Gottenberg is in Germany) and that's
       English for G?teborg.
