Cholesterol Question - Should I be worried?
I just had an independent {*filter*} test done at a local hospital. I knew my Cholesterol was high, but to be honest, am not really sure when to start getting too concerned. My cholesterol total was 349. The Triglyceride was 365, HDL 39, LDL 237, and VLDL 73. (I was also told my CHOL/HDL Ratio was 8.9) I am a 37 year old female. I know it doesn't look as good as it should, but should I be rushing to my doctor? Thanks, Teresa *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* EGADS! It has come to the point where I was getting so much junk e-mail I had to alter my header. All non-spammers reply to:

schedule an appointment with your primary physician who ideally should be an internist. this would not be considered an emergency/urgency (no need to rush) but you would be wise not to minimize it. -- Andrew Chung Homepage at: http://userwww.service.emory.edu/~achung Mirrored at: http://www.emory.edu/WHSC/MED/HTN/~achung/

I have been introduced to a new non-prescription, natural product which can significantly lower cholesterol levels and the risks of heart attack, as well as stregthening the heart itself. Although I am not a medical professional, from what I hear you should definitely be concerned about your levels, however, also be aware that most prescription products to lower cholesterol have many, many side effects. The non-prescription one that I mentioned is supposed to be really good. i will be finding out more detailed information in the next few days. Would you like to know what I find out?

The above message was not spam. I don't believe in spamming. If bothered to ask me I would have told you that I am well aware of watching cholesterol and cardiovasicular disease. I have a major history of heart disease in my family, many of which have died because of it. I currently have high {*filter*} pressure and hear palpitations. I am hoping to take preventative measures to ensure that my cholesterol doesn't get any higher and that I do everything I can to keep it low and also prevent future heart problems. I want to share with others what I am finding out about safe and effective solutions to heart problems which do not require prescription medications which are often harmful. I apologize to you for trying to help you and provide some potentially beneficial information and solutions. Bryan

It is the way you wrote it -- as a "teaser". This is only done by those selling snake oil as far as I know. Had you provided some actual information in a separate post, rather than "teasing" in individual replies, the accusation might not have been made. I'm not accusing, but explaining. If you want to share, please do so openly. --

Bryan, I wouldn't have posted what I did had your post contained the actual information asked if we'd like to know about. So many true spams are written exactly that way, as Jon pointed out in his reply. Please accept my sincerest apologies if a) you do intend to post the information; and b) aren't trying to sell a product or MLM scheme here. Lynn
