 cardizem cd

I'm curious about any adverse reactions to this drug.  I've been on
several high {*filter*} pressure medications and have experienced a wide
range of reactions.  I'm on my 2nd day of this drug and so far am feeling
no discomfort.

Well, ask the druggist for the package insert if he didn't leave it
attached. Then get out your strongest magnifying glass and read the
insert's info.

As no evidence at all, I've been taking 240 mg/d for about two years
with no notable "side" effect. The _intended_ effect, to regulate
the heart rate, is a bit annoying when I find I can't pump up
that hill as fast as I used to.

I was on Cardizem for a short while and had some trouble with edema. My
first CCB was Norvasc. It knocked my {*filter*} pressure way down to about
110/60, pulse 55.After ten days of that my ankles got elephant sized and
I was transferred to cardizem. After ten days of that the {*filter*} pressure
was up to only 120/70 with less swelling but still quite a bit. The third
CCB was Verelan. With that the edema vanished after a week or so, but the
{*filter*} pressure was up to 130/80. One is inclined to suspect that the
edema and {*filter*} pressure reduction of CCBs is inversely related. Does
anyone know? I had no other side effects from any of these three CCBs. I
tried going back to Norvasc after four months of Verelan. Once again, my
feet and ankles doubled in size. I am still on Verelan. I have now idea
if it is helping. There is much less angina now, but I've also dieted and
exercised and taken pravachol.I am 60, non-smoker, male, no MI, but quite
a few close relatives with fatal MI's. Angiogram shows one 85% block and
two 50% blocks. Otherwise health is tops. Who thinks the verelan is the
right way to go? I also take a pretty stiff dose of antioxidants.

The last I heard Judy, cardizem CD was no longer being used for high {*filter*}
pressure. It was on the news.
Ask your doctor about it...
