Thanks for your advice. However, I'm not clear if you are saying:
she might take Ramipril AND Valsartan? And, what dosage of each?
Checking these {*filter*} on the 'Net, I see some several reports of
heavy coughing with Valsartan.
I also found this comment (on this NG) in Feb '98 from a David Rollo,

My Mom has been on several high {*filter*} pressure medications. She
is starting to get "gouty" and swollen in her feet and lower
legs. Also, I have noted several medications that have
caused excessive coughing. It tears me up to see the old girl
taking such a beating in side-effects with these medications.
