Recently my brother suffered a catastrophic injury to his aorta, a
complete dissection from the base of his brain to his abdomen. Although
he survived the initial incident and surgery, he died 28 days after
suffering this injury. My brother was hypertensive and was taking
vasotec for this. In addition, he had been diagnosed as having {*filter*}
attention deficit disorder and he had been taking between 20 and 40
milligrams of dexedrine for approximately 18 months prior to this
incident. In addition to the dexedrine, approximately 4 days before the
incident, he began taking
Ritalin which he added to the Dexedrine. Does anybody know of any
studies regarding the use of dexedrine or Ritalin in {*filter*}s in patients
who also are hypertesive? Are there any known interactions between
Dexedrine and Ritalin?
